I had the privilege of having Kristin as my doula for my first labor and birth. I had known Kristin professionally for over a decade prior to the year of my pregnancy and birth. Being a homebirth midwife myself, I have attended many births in an out-of-hospital setting with different birth teams. As a midwife, I looked forward to any birth I would attend with Kristin being the hired doula. I have attended home births, birth center births, and hospital transfers with her. I have always admired her calm presence, her professionalism with other birth professionals, and how she can meet a family’s needs in the moment. It was very early into my pregnancy that I knew to contact Kristin to hire her as my doula. And admittedly, I knew I wanted her as my doula way before my first pregnancy!

Kristin was the first person I told I was having contractions when we coincidentally had a scheduled prenatal visit that day. To my (our) surprise, labor progressed very quickly after. Kristin acted quickly with our very first phone call, as she could tell over the phone how fast labor had progressed. She encouraged my husband to contact our midwives at that moment. Had she not, they may have barely missed my birth. She flew to our house and was the first person in our birth team to arrive. I remember feeling immediate relief seeing her sprint up my staircase to provide labor support. She quite literally dove straight into hip squeezes. One of my most vivid memories of my labor was Kristin kneeling close to my head and guiding me through each contraction when I was the most overwhelmed. I am grateful to say that I had my dream home birth, and I know I owe a lot of that to the support I received from Kristin as my birth doula.

I can’t recommend Kristin enough! I am confident I wouldn’t have had the wonderful birth experience I did without her loving, nurturing, and expert support for the months leading up to birth and continuing the weeks after.

My husband and I moved across the country to Seattle in the 3rd trimester, expecting our firstborn son, leaving all of our friends and family behind and having a lot of nerves for our high-stakes new beginning in a new city. Kristin was recommended to me by a former client, and I’m so grateful serendipity brought her into our birth journey. Leading up to birth, Kristin took great time and care to get to know my husband and I, she also gave us fantastic classes preparing us for labor and postpartum. I knew I could call her with any question or emotion, and she would be there for me and quell my nerves.

At our hospital birth, I don’t know what I would have done without Kristin, and I don’t fully have the words. She supported me emotionally, physically, and intellectually at my most vulnerable time during a very long labor, which had a lot of ups and downs and interventions I did not expect. She worked with my body, and thanks to her deep knowledge and expertise, we were able to move my baby’s positioning, which ended up being instrumental to me being able to have a vaginal birth. She also took pictures and videos, which I will cherish forever.

After the birth, I used Kristin’s placenta encapsulation service, and was so delighted to see her again, and with her support, close the chapter of the birthing portal. I wholeheartedly recommend Kristin, you won’t regret it!

Kristin came highly recommended by our midwife, and she quickly ended up being the MVP of our birth team. She supported us through all three of our pregnancies and births, and even after becoming seasoned parents, I couldn’t imagine doing it without her.

She was a fierce advocate for my needs at the hospital, empowered me to have informed consent, and overall helped me stay calm and grounded.

Whether it be her book, birth class, or doula care (highly recommended all three!!!), her passion for her work and helping others emanates through all that she does.
